Signature Flatbreads produces a range of award-winning, high quality authentic flatbreads and morning goods. It has bakeries situated in Dunstable (UK) and Nashik (India) employing 1,000 employees. It supplies branded and own label products to supermarkets, QSR’s, Food manufacturers and other food service establishments.
 
4. LOCATION OF ROLE: Dunstable, Bedfordshire
 
5. ROLE SUMMARY

The Assistant technical manager will be the main technical contact in one of our three factories. Responsible for controlling all technical aspects of production including factory standards and product quality. Assisted by a team of QA staff and given a degree of autonomy to ensure that the exacting needs of our customers are met.
 
6. REPORTING AND KEY RELATIONSHIPS

The role reports to the site Technical Manager with other key contacts being

Technical Director
Technical Services Manager

7. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for maintaining factory standards through auditing.
Ensuring that procedures designed to maintain product quality, safety and legality are followed by all staff.
Assist in the smooth implementation of changes and product launches.
Ensure that the sample plan is complied with insofar as samples are taken for further testing and assessment.
Proactively determine areas where improvement is necessary and assist in ensuring that non - conformances are addressed..
Assist in addressing deviations in the process to ensure that customers are not disappointed.

8. EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES

The successful applicant is likely to be working in a technical role within food manufacture.

9. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge of the BRC standard, HACCP, and retailer Codes of Practice would be an advantage. 
Fluent spoken and written English.

11. KEY MEASURES

Currently involved in a technical role within a food manufacturing company supplying UK retailers and restaurants.
Knowledge of bakery products would be an advantage.
